What Gmail sends to your inbox
Gmail sends nothing at signup — Gmail issues the address, it does not verify one. That is the mail you are waiting for on this page — paste the address above into the signup form and it will appear in the inbox on its own.
Will a disposable address be accepted?
We are not going to promise you that it will. Every large service keeps a blocklist of disposable domains and updates it constantly, so an address that worked last week can be refused today, and a domain that is blocked for one person may pass for another. Anyone telling you otherwise is guessing.
The reliable way to find out takes about ten seconds: copy the address above, paste it into the signup form, and see whether the code arrives. If the form rejects it outright, generate a new address on a different domain and try again.
What Gmail specifically does
This search usually means one of three different things, so let us separate them.
"Sign up for Gmail with a temp mail." Not possible, and not for policy reasons: Gmail gives you the address. There is no field to put a temporary one in. Google asks for a phone number and sometimes a recovery email, and that is the only place another address appears.
"Use a temp mail as my Gmail recovery address." Possible, and a bad idea. That address is how Google gets you back into a locked account; pointing it at a mailbox that will not exist is the same as leaving recovery blank.
"A temp mail instead of my Gmail." That is what this site does, and it is the sensible reading. Use the address above wherever a site wants an email but does not deserve your real one, and keep Gmail for things you need to keep.
What you lose if the mailbox goes away
High risk. You cannot register Gmail with one. Use a temporary address to protect your Gmail, not to replace or recover it.
