ChatGPT sends a confirmation link, and often a second verification step. That is the mail you are waiting for on this page — paste the address above into the signup form and it will appear in the inbox on its own.

Will a disposable address be accepted?

We are not going to promise you that it will. Every large service keeps a blocklist of disposable domains and updates it constantly, so an address that worked last week can be refused today, and a domain that is blocked for one person may pass for another. Anyone telling you otherwise is guessing.

The reliable way to find out takes about ten seconds: copy the address above, paste it into the signup form, and see whether the code arrives. If the form rejects it outright, generate a new address on a different domain and try again.

What ChatGPT specifically does

OpenAI screens signup addresses and disposable domains are refused more often than not. Signup also asks for a phone number in most regions, which is the step that actually stops throwaway accounts - the email address is not the bottleneck.

If you do get in and later lose the mailbox, you lose the account with it: your conversation history, any custom instructions, and any paid subscription attached to it. Support cannot move a subscription to a new address without access to the old one.

If your goal is to keep OpenAI from having your main address, a permanent alias from your own provider is a better fit than a disposable inbox - it forwards to you, survives, and can be turned off later.

High risk. Rarely works, and the failure mode is losing your history. Use an alias, not a disposable address.
